The Stage Is Set – The Final Teams have been decided during a very wet weekend. Who Made It To The Dome?

Despite a very rainy weekend, the stage has been set and all the final teams are in for the 2023 LHSAA State Football Championship.

Check Out the Schedule and the Teams:

Non-Select

Division I

#1 Ruston will met the 6th seed Zachary Broncos.  Ruston defeated Mandeville in the Semi Final round while Zachary had to take their game to Saturday, due to the weather.  The Broncos erased a 19 point deficit to win in overtime against Dutchtown

No. 1 Ruston (13-0) vs. No. 6 Zachary (12-1), 7 p.m., Saturday Dec. 9

Division II

#2 Cecilia seems unstoppable as they took on Northwest in their semi final game.  Cecilia ran away with explosive running plays by Corey Broussard (finished with over 230 yards and 4 TD’s) and Diesel Solari (3 rushing TD’s).  Get ready for a showdown when this explosive run game meets Opelousas.  #12 Opelousas stunned North Desoto Friday night with their “never say die” attitude.

No. 12 Opelousas (11-3) vs. No. 2 Cecilia (12-1), noon, Friday, Dec. 8

Division III

Rematch from 2019, I think so.  The St. James Wildcats traveled to Sterlington and showed their strength both on offense and defense.  Two goal line stands in the second half pushed the Wildcats through to the win..  They will take on Union Parish, who defeated a very hot Jena team Friday night.

No. 3 St. James (11-2) vs. No. 4 Union Parish (9-4), 3:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8

Division IV

It is a trip back to The Dome for the #4 Haynesville Golden Tornados, as they will meet #3 Oak Grove. Oak Grove made quick work of their game against Kentwood, while Haynesville showed their offensive might against a stout Logansport team.

No. 4 Haynesville (12-1) vs. No. 3 Oak Grove (11-2), 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7

Select

Division II

The Rematch of All Rematches, Lafayette Christian will meet rival St. Thomas More.  This is going to be an epic game, The Rematch of the State Championship game from 2022.
