Player Spotlight C/O 2025 – Bogalusa’s Defensive Back Lance Jackson Jr. (FS, 6’0″ 165)

Name: Lance Jackson Jr.
School: Bogalusa High School
Class Year: 2025
Playing Position: DB/FS
High School Coach: Cyril Crutchfield
GPA: 3.5
2021 Stats: 1 90 yd Pic-6 (scrimmage), 12 Tackles, 3 PBU’s

Evaluation: Plays free safety for his high school team. Shows quick read and reaction skills to get down field to assist on run plays.  Good focus and field vision to find the ball carrier and make the stop. Solid tackler in the open field with good speed to get sideline to sideline. Lance does a very good job working through traffic and does not getting caught up in blocks. He has a nose for the ball on pass plays and uses good cover skills to posiiton himself against the receiver, while the ball is in the air, to make the play on the ball. High ceiling for development. He was a varsity player as a freshman.

Freshman Highlights:

Question/Answer Session with Lance:

R/L: Who inspires you? Why?
Lance: Derek Stingley Jr., because he is a ball hawk and he dominants his opponent and at his position.

R/L: What have you learned from playing football?
Lance: I’ve learned that the game is not for nice people.  You have to be tough and when you get knock down you have to get back up, if you want to succeed.
