C/O 2024 Player Spotlight – University High Baton Rouge’s Linebacker Harry Beacham (6’0″ 200)

Name: Harry Beacham
School: University Lab School Baton Rouge, LA
Playing Position: Linebacker
Height/Weight: 6’0″ 200
GPA: 4.2
Contact Coach: Head Coach Andrew Martin

Fresh off an outstanding Sophomore season, Harry Beacham of the University High Cub’s has shown why he should be considered one of the top players in the C/O 2024.

Explosive, violent linebacker that packs a punch at the point of contact, Beacham racked up 156 Tackles during the 2021 football season.  He also added 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, four forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions (bringing one back for a pick six).  His hard work and effort earned him 7-3A 1st Team All District Linebacker in 2021.

If you are a defensive minded person that likes a high octane, hard hitting, and relentless pursuit linebacker, Beacham is certainly a prospect to look at.

Not only is Beacham a student of the game on the football field but he is also a student of the game in the classroom, where he maintains a 4.2 GPA with Honors.

Get To Know Harry via a question answer interview with the Sophomore Linebacker.

R/L: Who inspires you? Why?

Beacham: My grandfather inspires me because he was a dual sport SEC athlete and I am working to be better than him while having a great work ethic like him.

R/L: What do you do to prepare for a game – study film, daily routine to get ready, etc?

Beacham: I will watch and analyze film the week leading up to the game. The night before I make sure to get a full 8-9 hours of sleep and have a good breakfast when I wake up.

I will watch a little more film in my free time between classes just to refresh my mind memory but when I get dismissed from class and to the team I start to lock in. After having my pregame meal I will usually watch some sort of videos on my phone or computer. These will be hype type videos or comedy’s to get me ready, but also to get relaxed and focused.

When it’s time to get ready I pop in my ear buds and get my gameday playlist going to get me locked in and in the right mental state for the game. From this point until game time I will go over in my head what I should do all night to help earn a victory for our team. It’s Game On!

R/L: What is your favorite play?

Beacham: My favorite play is some sort of blitz because I love applying pressure on the quarterback or running back and love to make a big play in the backfield.

R/L: What attributes do you possess that make you a good teammate? What strengths do you possess that would make you a good college athlete?

Beacham: I try my best to lift up my teammates instead of putting them down. If they are doing something wrong I will try to help correct and show them rather than just yelling at them.  I love to see my teammates succeed, I believe all teammates should support each other 100%.

I would make a good college athlete because I have great discipline. I do what I am supposed to everyday, I work hard and don’t make excuses. I show up everyday ready to work no matter how I’m feeling. I also am very explosive and a form tackler that loves to be in on every play. I pride myself on getting guys to the ground.
