C/O of 2025 Spotlight – Denham Spring’s Yellow Jackets Jerry Horne (QB, 6’0″ 180)

Keep an eye on Denham Spring’s freshman quarterback, Jerry Horne.

Horne stepped in the starting position for the Yellowjackets after starting quarterback Reese Mooney suffered a season ending injury.

The learning curve took into effect very quickly and Horne did a great job handling the adjustment and getting a feeling for the field.

He saw his first official varsity start during the 5A state playoffs, as Denham Springs took on district rival, the Central Wildcats.  Horne lead his team to a commanding 42-14 win against the Wildcats in the 1st Round of the playoffs.  He had a very solid night taking the helm at quarterback and played as if he had ice in his veins.

Evaluation: Seeing time on varsity as a Freshman, good arm strength, a mobile threat as he will tuck the ball and take off, already shows a sense of maturity on the field, very high ceiling as he continues to develop.
