Want a speedy linebacker that is long and athletic, check out sophomore Michael Woods from Rosepine High School.

Woods is a feisty, fierce linebacker that packs a punch at the point of contact.  He has explosive speed to get in the backfield to wreck havoc on opposing offenses and also the speed to maintain his gap on stretch plays to make the stop, with relentless pursuit.

Woods blows off blocks, keeps his pads low to get to the ball carrier. He plays hard to the whistle every down.  His read and react skills, along with his first step, are sharp and he plays with a high football IQ.  He shows a presence on the football field to the point that opposing offenses have to know where he is at all times.

Sophomore Highlights:

Michael is also an outstanding student athlete as he maintains a 3.7 GPA through his Sophomore year in high school, with Honor Roll Accolades.

Check Out R/L Profile Interview with Rosepine’s Sophomore Linebacker Michael Woods:

R/L: What attributes do you possess that make you a good teammate? What strengths do you possess that would make you a good college athlete?

Woods: I’m a leader on the defensive side. I’m chill but intense. Always there to pick my teammates up after a bad play. I never give up, no matter the score or time left in the game. I’m always giving it 100%

R/L: Schools you are interested in and why.

Woods: Florida, LSU, Oregon, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, FSU, UL and many others. These are the schools that I’ve been watching since I was young and been dreaming to play for.  All these teams, as well as others, have shown me that they can have breakout seasons and be consistent.

R/L: Who inspires you? Why?

Woods: My father. He’s shown me that if you work through the bumps and bruises throughout life you’ll get your outcome. I’m looking forward to getting my outcome!

R/L: What have you learned from playing football?

Woods: That this is what I love and what I plan to be doing for a lot of years to come. It’s a business to me and I will not fail at accomplishing my goals.

R/L: What is your favorite play?

Woods: My favorite play is coming off the edge to make a tackle for a loss or a sack on the quarterback.
