2019 LHSAA State Championships – Big Players Make Big Plays When It Is Time – Oak Grove vs White Castle

OAK GROVE VS WHITE CASTLE – 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

PLAY OF THE GAME – 2020 DL 6’4″ 315 Bert Hale Oak Grove Tigers

This was Oak Groves second consecutive trip to the Superdome but this one they would leave as The Champions.  Oak Grove is one of the most fundamental sound teams you will find in Louisiana and is lead by Head Coach Ryan Gregory.

The offensive fire power of Junior RB Ron Craten, Senior ATH Otis Moore and Sr. Quarterback Braden Sullivan looked to be more than White Castle could handle.  Craten finished with 23 carries, 159 yrds, and 2 TDs while Senior ATH #15 Otis Moore finished with 12 carries 63 yards and 1 TD’s Moore also added and interception on defense, as he plays both sides of the ball and also handles return duties on special teams.

Defensively Oak Grove is fundamentally solid, fast, furious and heavily loaded with talent. The front line is anchored by Kansas Commit Kenean Caldwell and Big Man Bert Hale (LaTech Commit), who also supplied the play of the game when he caught an interception and returned it to the endzone for a 46 yard TD.

White Castle’s running game was lead by #8 Marcus Williams with 10 carries for 177 yards and 2 TDs.
