GAME RECAP: It was a stark difference in the weather from the previous several weeks of high school football in Louisiana. A Clear night, no rain or mud, and the perfect temperature outside for what was set up to be one of the top games of the week.  The Southern Lab Kittens and the Catholic Pointe Coupe Hornets were going to battle it out in the LHSAA Div IV Semi-Finals with the winner moving on to the Championship Game.

Catholic Pointe Coupe came into the game with a 11-2 record coming into the game.  Their style of offense (Wing-T) was slow, methodical and very effective.  It is all about execution and attention to detail.  When they say they are 39 Players with 1 Heartbeat, they are just that.  The execution of the Hornets offensive game is based on everyone doing their job to get the holes open for the run game, find separation to get in open passing lanes and create ways to make a difference in order to get the ball down the field.

Defensively they are one of the toughest groups of players you will find on the field.  They are fast, furious and constantly looking to stop the ball with minimum if no gain.  The cover skills of the secondary is tight and physical.  It was just hard nose, physical defensive football from the time the clock ticked off its first second until it ticked off the last second of the game.

The Southern Lab Kittens have good size, very athletic players and they play with a lot of pride and determination.  A.W. Mumford is classified as their home field and they wanted to show that they had earned the right to be in the Championship Game.   After several set backs on the last couple of years this group of players fought hard the entire game for the Green and Gold.
